A special thanks to Prof Joe Proietto

I had the great privilege of sitting in with the inspirational Professor. He is an Endocrinologist specialising in Diabetes and Obesity. He is a world-renowned investigator of the management of obesity. Professor Proietto established the first public obesity clinic in Victoria at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and is now Head of the Weight Control Clinic at Austin Health. He is a senior specialist at the Austin Health Endocrinology Clinic and he is a past President of the Australian and New Zealand Society Obesity Society (ANZOS).

Joe’s team at Austin and their research on the safety and benefits of a rapid weight loss programs and the role of genes and feed back hormones in weight control has provided hope and inspiration to the many overweight and obese patients frustrated by the clear failure of the eat less/exercise more model of weight management.
